The Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) assembly president Abdelwahed Radi arrived in Uganda on Tuesday 27th March 2012 for the 126th Parliamentary Assembly.
Radi was welcomed by the Speaker of Parliament Rebecca Kadaga at Entebbe International airport.
The IPU assembly is scheduled to run from March 31 to April 5 at Commonwealth Speke Resort Hotel Munyonyo and is expected to attract over 3000 delegates to Kampala.
President Yoweri Museveni will open the summit on Saturday and other related meetings will be held at Serena and Imperial Royale hotels.
The assembly will discuss good governance and maternal health among other issues. Hon. Kadaga lobbied for the conference to come to Uganda.
The IPU is the international organization of Parliaments and was established in 1889.
